City of London
London has so much to offer for everyone’s individual tastes (both in food and style!) That’s why we’re back with more from our favorite city
A little bit of bling and the queue can be daunting at times, but there’s something very enjoyable about the whole thing – get a corner seat and watch the show!
Opened at the end of 2017 behind London Bridge in the cool area of Bermondsey. This amazing restaurant brings simple Portuguese ingredients and flavours to the fore. The king crab simplicity is a celebration of the quality of products being sourced. Each dish follows the same ethos, where it's all about the ingredients. A total winner, simplicity at its best!
Must go place if you are a fan of a salted beef sandwich. This place is known as a "Jewish Soul Food" Deli so you have to try the Reuben special. Stunning interior design with Victorian style tiles throughout, stylish bar & cozy booth seating.
Grab a seat at the counter, a couple of margaritas on the rocks and work your way through the tacos – watch out for the Scotch bonnet!
Simpson's in the Strand
A real institution brought back to life, the rib of beef off the trolley or classic steak & kidney pudding are ‘must-haves’.
Another leading gastro pub in Stockwell South West london. Any foodie who lives near, frequents this place often. The food is consistently great, a bustling atmosphere at all times. You need to book though, this is a not a secret to Londoners, the place gets rammed but all in a very good way. Just sit back and enjoy a afternoon/evening with great foods, wine and friends.
A hidden gem in Victoria, and finally getting the recognition it deserves. Chinese at its best; 10 course tasting menu, dim sum and pre order the Peking Duck!
The new and first full vegan pub in London. With an external look of a refurbished "Old Boozer" but when you arrive inside, slick décor, restaurant style plated plant based food and vegan cocktails……your friends might not even realise it is vegan!
For many years this has been riding high as one of the best gastropubs south of the river. We shared the rabbit and it was outstanding and a very fashionable charred January King cabbage amonst others. Wine knowledge excellent and a very informal but slick service given. A gem in Camberwell!
When cool starts opening in Elephant and Castle, you know London is in development in another area…This food market is a bit under the radar at the moment, you know you can get an array of quick, tasty items at lunch or spend the whole night drinking and getting your fix from numerous cuisines. The events calendar is eclectic, they have a slick marketing team in operation.
The delight of Brixton Market has been known for many years but when Salon opened 5 years ago, in Market Row, they brought another angle to this market. You get fine dining food but in a very relaxed space and great price point. You can feel it is a chef led business, just by the quality and the ever changing menu - it screams passion.
The same owners as the hugely successful Palomar, opened their 2nd site over a year ago in Neals Yard, Covent Garden. A smaller space in comparison, all based around an oval bar and high stools. You get to sample as good as the Palomar food and still with the bantering chefs and floor team. Next door they opened Jacob and the Angel a day time affair - breakfast and lunch only for good quality quick bites.
